Season 2, Episode 1: Human Traffic

NCIS’s LAPD liaison, detective and lawyer Marty Deeks, went missing undercover just after target, drug and extortion street gang leader Emilio Philip Ortega, and his bodyguard, Luis Manuel Fellano, were killed by a bomb in their car. Deeks posed as real estate expert to approach Serbian human trafficker Radovan Lazik, who hired Ortega for his smuggling contacts. LAPD detective Jess Traynor, Deeks’s partner, dies from a similar car bomb just after briefing NCIS. Detective Frank Scarli is in charge for LAPD, which aborted the undercover operation. Marty contacts Hetty, lightly wounded, asking help to get Lazik.

Season 2, Episode 2: Black Widow

Hotel security cameras show NCIS agent Dan Williams, investigation illegal corrupt Navy arms sales, was fatally injected to simulate cardiac arrest by British vet hired killer Jon ‘White’ Craig under cover of a sheik’s entourage. LA airport customs spot Jon, but Callen decides to follow rather then just arrest him. Learning, with Beal’s help, Craig was hired by the Chechen Muslim extremist Grozny Emirate, Callen poses as his back-up and thus learns the target is Emma Mastin, a housewife without a record like her husband, with an angelic six-year old son. The key is her Chechen past as ‘black widow’ of terrorist leader Vakar, who faked his death and hates her for refusing to be recruited and wants his son at all cost.

Near Camp Pendleton base, San Diego, four marines are ambushed, presumably by a Mexican drug cartel. The only escapee reports the female was expecting a colleague’s baby. Callen and Sam, who uses a dangerous former alias, check out Ortega’s successor Memo Torres’s drug gang, but also suspect a link with racketeered tycoon Donald Wexling.

Special Agent Sam Hanna decides to take on a case on the request of Security Specialist Commander Jason Remy. Even though out of NCIS jurisdiction, Sam has strong sympathies with the case and goes above and beyond to solve it.
